this was a paid project by husky badminton club to design t-shirts for the annual husky open tournament. i was given 3 days to finalize designs so the club had time to order, print, and deliver the t-shirts to over 300 entrants.

talking to the client
rildo, the president of husky badminton club, reached out with a request for a cartoon drawing of a husky that incorporated badminton elements like a racket and shuttlecock. i was given examples from previous years, which i used as inspiration while making sure not to repeat any past designs.

i began sketching concepts in procreate, exploring different poses for the husky to add variation and personality todthe design. i sent my sketches to rildo, and he chose the designs where the husky is directly interacting with badminton equipment.

Digitizing the Sketches
I vectorized these sketches into Adobe Illustrator and finalized the text placement. I created two layout options: one with a top-to-bottom composition and another with a circular composition. The top-to-bottom version read more naturally, but I felt the circular layout would sit better on a t-shirt and feel more balanced overall. I sent the circular version to Rildo for review, and he approved the final design.
